BOARD FOR ASBESTOS, LEAD, MOLD AND HOME INSPECTORS
The licensing Board was created by the General Assembly in 1993 to oversee the asbestos licensing regulations. It was expanded in 1994 to include lead-based paint activities licensing, and again in 2001 to include home inspector certification. The 2009 General Assembly directed the Board to develop a licensure program for mold remediators and inspectors, effective in 2011.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for Certified Home Inspectors
Effective April 1, 2011, Certified Home Inspectors shall have completed 16 contact hours of CPE during the certificate cycle. There is a two year delayed enactment clause, therefore, beginning with the certificates that expire April 30, 2013, documentation of satisfactory completion of CPE shall be provided to the Board upon request.
